About Every Poet Is A Thief

Starting Off With Every Poet Is A Thief…

First off, we’d like to thank you for visiting our site in the first place. There’s a few things, however, we’d like to get out of the way right now:

  1. Read the ratings and genre system at the bottom of our fanfiction page before proceeding to read any of the stories. We are not responsible for anyone who is offended, disturbed or hurt by what they read.
  2. Don’t hesitate to give the authors/artists feedback, whether it’s good or bad. Being a responsible reader/viewer is reviewing the work. Trust us, it’s what writers and artists live for.
  3. We don’t own U2 in any way shape or form…we’d certainly like to, but I think they’re pretty keen on living with their wives/girlfriends and/or kids, so we’re out of luck there. This is a fan’s site, but one must keep in mind that the stories on this site are fictional. They never actually happened the way they are portrayed or even at all in some cases, (as far as we know).
  4. Be open-minded. You may read/see things here you haven’t before. Try to think with an open mind and don’t judge something before you try it. You may be pleasantly surprised.

Now some questions and answers we thought might come up. If you have any questions not asked here, email us at:
everypoetisathief@hotmail.com.

So what’s this site about anyway?

This site is basically a place for U2 fans to express, through pictures and words, what U2 means to them. On this site you’ll find drawings of the members of U2, fanfiction starring, inspired by or involving the members of U2, a place where you can put in your feedback about what you see on this site and even some of our favorite links to sites we believe the general U2-loving public might be interested in.

How did this site get started?

This was started by three U2 fans who felt that they wanted a sit especially for U2-related art and expressions. Webmistress, Maria (Vero) offered to make up a site for original authors/artists of this site, Mandi and Jess. And before you ask, yes, we’re crazy.

What’s fanfiction?

Fanfiction is what its name says it is. It’s fictional writing, (novels, short stories, poems or songs), inspired by or starring, (in this site’s case), U2.

I noticed you have a genre and rating system on the fanfictions. How did you determine this?

The writer of the story determines the genre of their story. Even if you don’t agree with the genre type, we won’t change it unless the author asks us to.

The makers of this site, on the other hand, determine the rating system and the ratings are always subject to change if there is any disagreement voiced by readers. If you feel any story on this site is inappropriately rated, email us at
everypoetisathief@hotmail.com so we can look into the matter and (possibly) change it.

What if I’m offended by the content of something I read?

Don’t read it. There will be NO CENSORSHIP ON THIS PAGE. The founders of this site are American, and therefore, believe strongly in freedom of speech. Just as long as the story is accurately rated, we are not responsible for any ill feelings readers have toward stories. If you find slash/angst, etc., offensive, simply don’t read it. We would appreciate if no one filled our email boxes with complaints about the content of appropriately rated stories.

I have my own artwork/fiction I’d like to have up at your site. Who do ask?

If you would like to submit a work you’ve done, try the following:

Email to:
everypoetisathief@hotmail.com

Artwork: On an email, write your name, the date, the name of the piece of artwork (If it has one. If it doesn’t that’s fine), and a short description of the artwork (i.e., “Bono singing while wearing Fly Shades circa 1992”). You must also have a scanned attachment of the artwork and please try to make the picture be in jpeg form.

Fictions: On an email, write your name, the date, the title of the work (yes, it must have a title), whether it is only one chapter or more, your suggested rating for the work, the genre of the work and a short summary of the story (don’t give the plot away within the summary, simply write something that will give the reading audience some idea of what you’ve written. Sometimes the fact of whether a reader reads your story or not depends on the summary). Have a word document attachment of your story attached to the email.

There is no guarantee that if you send your work, it will be put up. There are lots of great artwork and fics out there and only so much space on this website, so please don’t be offended if your work is not chosen. Anyone who sends anything is guaranteed a response to his or her email. MAKE SURE THAT YOUR FICS ARE THROUGHLY READ OVER AND TO YOUR SATISFACTION BEFORE SENDING THEM. It is very annoying for us to have to make changes once the story is already up.

Finally, be prepared to have to write a short bio on yourself, (and if you’re so kind, a piccie of yourself as well), to be placed on our authors/artist site. Unless, of course, you don’t want to give out your email, in which you would not be asked to make a bio. :)

I already have a fiction/drawing up at your site, but there’s something wrong with it. What do I do?

If you don’t like the way your fic looks (such as background, pictures you may have on it, or font/font size/font color), or your fic simply doesn’t come up, email us immediately at
everypoetisathief@hotmail.com. If your artwork doesn’t show up (i.e., the link doesn’t work), email us at the same address as above.

Thanks for stopping by and please come back again!

Oh, and…ROCK AND ROLL DOGGIE! :)
